Do you have a golf handicap. If so what is it?
Recently I have been spending too much time tweeting rather than golfing and I have let my handicap lapse. High priority to fix that one.
Tell us why you are passionate about your golf?
I was introduced to golf in N Ireland, on a small public course that no longer exists, not too far from the beautiful and challenging Royal County Down Golf Club. However, I never actually played Royal County Down until many years later on a return visit from Australia where I now live. I have been a member of many clubs in Australia at different times including Melbourne's Yarra Yarra, The National, Cranbourne, Beacon Hills, Araluen in WA and my current home club of Royal Fremantle. To me golf is always a great challenge and I can think of nothing better than hitting the golf course at daybreak and getting in as many holes as possible before work and the real world calls. What a great way to start the day.

Number One on Amazon - Dream On Baby

Combine a great story and the awesome power of Twitter and what do you get? A No1 Amazon Best Seller of couse.

When our TwitRGolfers member, John Richardson from N Ireland, set himself the goal of breaking par within twelve months I wonder if he dreamt that he would not only achieve his goal, but he would top the Amazon best seller list in Golf.

Well that is exactly what happened and this was the (very, very small) part of the story that I was privileged to witness.… Continue

John Daly Twitters Up A Storm

Monday Evening - May 18th. It was getting late in my neck of the woods. I checked my email one last time to see if there were any alligators lurking there, needing attention before I hit the hay.

Nothing too urgent, so time to put my laptop to bed.

Little did I realize that I was about to get the lesson of my life from golfing legend and 1991 US PGA and 1995 Open Champion, John Daly. Not a golf lesson - but a lesson in the masterful use of social media. Twitter in particular.

I glanced… Continue

Want to learn how a 24-handicapper from Ireland set himself a goal to break par within a year and succeeded.Well our newest member at TwitRGolfers, John Richardson, did just that. Even seasoned pros Sam Torrance and Darren Clarke said it couldn't be done.

The amazing thing… Continue

#GolfFriday - Great Idea from Bob Diercksmeier

"Hi Aidan -- I'm trying to establish #GolfFriday, a sort of #FollowFriday for golf. Any RT's are much appreciated. Cheers and happy Friday! " - Bob Diercksmeier

I received this DM from Bob, a member of TwitrGolfers, last Friday. I thought it was great idea. I will certainly be jumping on board this Friday.

The essence of #FollowFriday is that if you want to suggest a person to follow you simply mention them in a tw… Continue

Let's Get Tiger on Twitter

Where is Tiger Woods on Twitter? We would love to see Tiger on Twitter...right? Everyone is loving the Tour Tweets from Stewart Cink, Stuart Appleby, John Daly and others. - Tour Pros on Twitter

But the Twitter silence from Tiger is deafening!

Sure we have seen a few Tiger impersonators out there and Twitter have slapped them down exactly as they should. But as yet, no sign of the man himself.

What be… Continue

Thanks for the message Aidan,
I haven't been in Guangzhou for too long but played golf today at Mayland Lakes a new nine hole course but you sneak around twice. Its really a fantastic layout. My other teaching pro's are getting out more than i am and the golf up here is pretty good but a bit on the expensive side. Twitter doesn't work in China (total block on it) so i'm glad they haven't blocked TwitR golfers yet!

Thanks Aidan, nice to meet you. I don't have any photos of my own - I'll have to change that - but "two guys who golf" did a nice little review of The 500 Club with some great photos: http://arizona.twoguyswhogolf.com/reviews/500club.html. The club has a unique background - one of the owners is Tom Sneva, whose second passion after auto racing was golf. You guessed it, all the flags are checkerboard. It's a great course situated up against a reserve area - havelina, coyotes, red tail hawks and yes, the occasional rattle snakes are visitors.

Thank's again Aidan. We have chosen everything and will be ready to publish the Myrtle Beach package in a few days. Hopefully I will have the Kiawah/Hilton Head and the Pinehurst Packages in a few weeks. Admittantly we are in business to show a profit. However what will mean much more than the amount of money we make or lose, will be to hear our groups talking in the Grill Room after they get back from taking one of our trips wondering where we will take them next month because they had such a wonderful time.
