When I first read the statistics I couldn't believe them. Only 1 out of 4 golfers are women. Then my mind immediately went to all of the stereotypical reasons why that is probably so:

Golf is a good old boy sport and doors are closed to women.

Golf is only played by Republicans.

Women don't have the time or inclination to play golf.

There are not as many opportunities in golf for women as there are for men.

Men are just mean to women on the golf course

Moving from across the country, meeting a soul mate was not my first priority. Truthfully it was the last thing on my mind.
